brilliantly (adverb):
in a very bright or dazzling way; in a way that is exceptionally intelligent, skilled, or successful
Luminus Biomimicry helps companies design nature-inspired products, services, and systems that are brilliant and good for the planet.
You don’t have to choose between having a successful business or a sustainable one. Nature shows us that innovation, productivity, and sustainability (or regeneration of the environment) go together hand-in-hand. Nature is our best role model for creating effective products, services, and systems that benefit all of life on the planet, for generations to come.
That’s why Luminus Biomimicry focuses on biomimicry and wants to share this revolutionary tool with the world. Together, we can emulate nature’s best practices to provide brilliant solutions that make customers happy, boost business, and regenerate the natural world.
Meet Ayla Kiser, PhD
Biomimicry expert, scientist, educator, and founder of Luminus Biomimicry
Hello! I’m Ayla. I’ve been a research scientist for the past 20 years in environmental engineering, health, and biomimicry, and my published work has been cited over 2000 times. I hold a BSc in mechanical engineering, an MSc and PhD in environmental engineering, and an MSc in biomimicry. I’m one of less than 150 people in the world to be a Certified Biomimicry Professional.
I was one of the first people in the world to be hired by a multinational corporation specifically to use biomimicry to innovate consumer products. As Johnson and Johnson (J&J) Consumer Health’s in-house biomimicry expert, I used biomimicry to design new or improved products and a nature-inspired roadmap for planetary health. I worked with teams around the world in skin health, oral care, baby care, self-care (over-the-counter medicines), and packaging. My rich and unique experience at J&J taught me how to best use biomimicry within a company – what works, what doesn’t.
I’ve taught biomicry to professionals and to over 200 university students, with rave reviews. My lessons are clear, concise, engaging, and practical. And I walk my talk: I design training programs using biomimicry to make them as impactful as possible.
I founded Luminus Biomimicry because I want to share my biomimicry expertise and show companies of all kinds that they can boost their business and environmental performance by using biomimicry as a powerful tool. I’m 1000% convinced that biomimicry is and will be vital for creating brilliant businesses and a bright future for everyone on the planet.
